About Me

This is me. My full name is Kristin Bergh, although I'm also known as KrisCynical on the message boards and websites I haunt from time to time. My friends describe me as the "brooding artist". I call myself a geek. Things even out.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree specializing in Illustration from Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. Since then I've settled back in my home of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex of Texas where I now work as a freelance illustrator. Although I prefer illustrating stories, especially those for children and young adults, I can gladly do anything that might be required of me in other areas of illustration as well as graphic design.
I'm a member of several different fandoms. Although Harry Potter used to be one of the top spots, my artistic interest in it has dwindled over the past few years due to getting involved in new artistic projects that have broadened my horizons a bit. I first got into Harry Potter when I friend of mine kept bugging me to read the first book before the movie came out. I put up a good fight for a while but finally caved and bought the paperback of Sorcerer's Stone. By chapter 5 I had gone out and bought all (at the time) four books in hardback. I now, like every other Potterfan out there, have all seven books sitting side by side on my bookshelf.
 
And now for some random information and favorite things:
House: Gryffindor (every quiz I've ever taken has put me there)
Wand: 12 1/4" Mahogany, Springy with a phoenix feather core. "With this wand you are sure to put your ideas to work, for you show lots of effort!

Potter Book: Prisoner of Azkaban, of course, although I did enjoy Half Blood Prince and the last few chapters of Deathly Hallows.

Movies: Back to the Future trilogy, Moulin Rouge!, Aladdin, Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Pretty Woman
Color: Anything blue or jewel toned
Computer: Doc (desktop), Copernicus (notebook for traveling)
